Tomfim Dimitrov

In Bulgaria, in the prison of Belen, there was a pit with hungry dogs. Naked prisoners were thrown into it if they broke some prison rule. In some cases God performed miracles. Brother Tomfim Dimitrov was thrown to the dogs. While being led to the place, he prayed for his enemies, who threw him into the pit. Immediately a great howling was heard. When the officers looked into the pit, the saw Brother Dimitrov kneeling in prayer and the dogs in panic, barking and trying to jump the walls in order to save them selves from the strange, awesome power emanating from him. It remains God’s mystery why he performs such miracles for some, whereas others have to drink the bitter cup until the end.
